Lighting & Controls
A recent study by the federal Environmental Protection Agency, found that the average American spends 90% of their time indoors, so lighting is important. Light-emitting diode (LED) lights have no filament, unlike incandescent lights, so there is nothing to burn out. They are 90% more efficient than incandescent lights and they last more than 10 times longer, approximately 50,000 hours when installed properly. Of course, they’re more expensive than incandescent and florescent lights, but they more than pay for themselves in efficiency.
At Capsells, we have updated a selection of our lighting options to highlight their lumen value rather than their wattage. To learn more about the difference between lumens and watts, and why we made the change, check out our blog post here.
