Grid Tie Packages
Grid Tie solar systems are among the most common types of systems homeowners install. Grid interconnected systems generate power during the day which is synchronized with your utility power. If you are generating more power during the day than your home is consuming, excess power is routed back to the grid and will offset power use drawn by your home during the night. If you consume more power than your system is able to generate, home power is supplied as usual from your utility grid. In the event of a utility power outage, grid-tie systems will also be down. If you live in an area with a lot of black-outs, a battery back up system or generator may be a good option. Battery backup systems are significantly higher in price than traditional grid-tie arrays, and batteries need to be serviced and replaced periodically. If power outages are rare, but you would still like some sort of backup, a generator or a separate small solar backup system may be the most cost effective option. Our Grid-Tie packages use only the highest quality parts from leading manufacturers.
